Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael and Michelangelo are used as examples of Renaissance men because they did excellent in art, their style were special and different than the anterior and they influenced posterity.
Artist had more freedom than living in the Middle Ages. They could only concentrate on art and no need to fight or farm. They could show their feeling on art. They had religion also. They usually used God to be the theme of the artwork. They sold their concepts to others on art. Artist led the whole society at that time.

Good, Winky; now why don't people in the Renaissance need to farm or fight as much as those poor folk from the Middle Ages?
