She went on breaking pea pods into the pot. She said but now I took that Jack. “You know him. He’s the biggest boy in our school, and yet I happen to know personally from Maisie, his sister, that he’d rather die than let anyone know he was afraid of being bit in the face, ‘cause he’s scared of he become ugly.”
She studied me for a moment. She and I both knew the dragonish thing to do. Then she went back to shelling the peas. Outside in front of the house I could hear the voice of Jack, he was alone. I began to shell peas for a while. Robin and I both knew I did not walk on Polk Street much because of the demon boys, especially Jack. Suddenly I put the last peas into the pot and got up.
Robin raised her eyebrows. “Going for a walk?”
“A little one,” I said.
Jack immediately stopped playing mumblety-peg when he saw me. He took his penknife and drove it point first into the dirt of the alley. He got up with a big grin, and he gathered by the alley.
“Ching Chong—“he began.
“I no like that song,” I said.
“Too bad,” Jack said.
“I think it stupid.”
“You saying I’m stupid?”
“Everyone know that.”
Jack charged me with a shout and began to yell with shrill, excited voices. I am a bit frightened. There was as much luck with me that day as anything else. I was smaller maybe quicker, but with his long arms and his strength, Jack could have strung me from a lamppost. But Grandfather and the other Old Ones must have been there to help me at that moment. Jack expected me to run, probably; he never expected me to stand up and fight, and he did not think of dodging. I swung out and my fist went right into his face. Jack sat down with a plop in the dirt, his cloth was totally dirty.
“You bit me,” he said in surprise and angry.
“What you expect?” I asked. I doubted if I would ever get such a lucky punch in again. Still, I had come out here for the satisfaction of giving one punch to Jack for all the times he had tormented me—even if it meant getting beaten up in the end. I put up my fists awkwardly, ready to fight him some more. But Jack did not get up. The other people who saw this shouted at me and then went to Jack’s home.
“My legs are bleeding, too,” Jack said, holding up a hand to his face. “And my mom just cleaned this shirt and she love me very much. She’ll kill you. Haha!”

response letter
After I read the news article,'Secondary school class sizes cut', I think there is a huge difference of the definition and purposes of small classes teaching between the government's thought and mine. First, I expect the number of students in a small class should between 20-25; but the government seems think that 36-38 students in a class is small classes already, and it can fix the problem of fall of students entering. Also, reduce the maximum size of classes just for keeping the schools that may have not enough students, but it is not improving the students' learning. Although the action of the government is not as good as I think, may be this can lead the schools and government to accept and try small classes teaching.

I think Hong Kong doesn't foster or promote those qualites to people to be good inventor. Nowadays people in Hong Kong don't want to be a good inventor, because inventors cannot get to much money in a short period. And so, most of the school don't consider to teach students to be good inventors. They teach students some qualities such as creative that about being good inventors, but it doesn't mean that they want students to be good inventor, they have another target.
I think most Hong Kong people have those qualities of being good inventor, but actually they use those qualities not for being good inventor. And those qualities don't only good for being inventor, they are neccessary qualities of other jobs also, like a screenwriter.

I think Hong Kong doesn't need any revolution. First, Hong Kong isn't a colony now and our relationsip with China is very good, because we are under the "one country, two system" policy, so we have completely freedom on our policy( inculde economic). So, we do not need to have American Revolution. Second, Hong Kong is equitable in all area, even there are Equal Opportunities Commission. We do not have financial crisis also, so Hong Kong doesn't need to have French Revolution. Finally, Hong Kong support people to be scholarly. The goods that we need always import from others countries so there are no more factories nowadays. And so we do not need to have Industrial Revolution or Cultural Revolution.
The five basic qualities that a good inventor might have include scholarly, patient, creative, free and not poor. Scholarly and creative are necessary because inventor need to use knowledge to do invention and creating new product. They should be patient because they would always fail and need to try again. They may not be wealthy but they should be not poor also because they need money to buy materials to do experiments and invention. They should be free because they need so much time to try many times untill they succeed.

The difference and similarities between the 13 colonies and the Hong Kong colony
In the economical way, Hong Kong colony did trading but the 13 colonies still did farming. So Hong Kong conloy developed earlier than the 13 conlonies. They had many differences. Hong Kong was more advanced in transpotation too, such as railway and aeroplanes. Those did not appear at the 13 colonies. This made the trading more successful. In the Hong Kong colony, there was bank too. The 13 colonies did farming at first and later they had factoies to make raw materials to goods. So the poor farmers became rich merchants.
In the political way, Hong Kong colony was similar to the 13 colonies. They both had revolution or strike. In the 1920s and 1930s, a backlash against the dockworkers strikes in Hong Kong colony. At last, it ended by increased 32 cents to their wages. Also, the 13 colonies organized a revolution that influenced them combined into America. In the other way, Hong Kong colony
established the legislative council and colonial police force to handle the law and criminal case, but the 13 colonies did not.
