Food Fair Article

Methodist College from 2 students involved the International Food Fair. They raised money by selling their food. It was held on 7th December, 2007, in Methodist College. From 2 students made delicious food and beautiful decoration. They had a lot of fun. Teachers and students said it was very successful and they all enjoy it so much. All of the students learnt cooperation and organization skills in this experience. It was a meaningful event too because the money will be donated to charity.

Food Fair

Today afternoon, we had our food fair in the lower hall. Initially, my group didn't get a place to place our tall banner. So we found some teachers to help us but they couldn't solve the problem and actually they made us angrier. All of what they said for no help. They said we should think of the way to solve the problem ourselves but they banned all of our ideas. They couldn't help us also they didn't let us to help ourselves. We were very sorrow, disappointed and enraged about this because we really wanted to have a good memory on the food fair and we did a lot but all of our efforts seem to be in vain.
All of us cried for that because no one could actually help us. At that time, Mr. Woo came and saved us!!! He helped us to move the tables and place the banner. Thank you for Mr. Woo. When we were in need, he was the one who encouraged us and solved our problem. Sorry for Mr. Woo too. We made such problems and troubled him.
We had our enjoyable food fair happily.We sold our food strenuously and did our best. We had a lot of fun in the food fair. This was really a memorable experience.
I learnt that when I try my best to cooperate with others to work, everything will be okay and we must enjoy it. I was one of the MCs in the food fair. It was excited to be a MC because I stood on the stage and spoke in front of many people. It was a cheerful and joyful day.

Italian Food

Italy divided into north and south part because there are different climate. And so there are two diffenert types of food. In the north part of Italy, the people use dairy to make dishes usually. They use simple seasoning but the taste is rich. In the south part of Italy, they use many kinds of seasoning such as cayenne pepper and ketchup so that the taste is special and rich.

Restaurant Review

I learnt how to think objectively because there are difference between making a restaurant review and food fair advertisement. In a restaurant review, we must make the people who have seen the review will have a feeling of they want to go to that restaurant. So we must tell the advantages about the restaurant and add our own feeling into it. That is different from food fair advertisement. In a advertisement, we need to tell the information only.
In this time, I was a camerawoman. I thought I took a good film and we had a better cooperation this time because we had a experience last time. Actually, I was the person who distributed the work and I did a better distribution this time because I detected their virtues last time.
I thought that we did not show the advantages of the restaurant completely and what we could show in the film is too little. I think we can tell enough information next time.

Computer Literacy Assignment

I learnt two skills for checking my work and found a picture to describe a word.

Gerund

It is a screen shot of a text with the gerund, "applying". It is a text of telling people how to write a cover letter for a job. I searched for the keyword, letter, in Yahoo and got this result.

In this computer lesson, I have learnt how to upload a screen shot to the group in the flickr and discribe the picture.

International Food Fair

In this experience of making an advertisement for the food fair, I have learnt cooperation is important. We must cooperate with others so that we can have a better result. I like working in a team because that makes us have more fun when we are working and we enjoy working more. I think there is a problem in grammar only. We used wrong grammar when we spoke in the video sometimes. I think we can do it better in the next time.

active and passive voice

I went to Yahoo and searched for keywords, " grammar excerise" and get many results. I went to one of the wedsites and get the two sentences below.

The Active Voice

The word, "hit", in that sentence is a active verb. "Flying debris" is doer and "some people" is receiver.

The Passive Voice

The word, "were hit" is passive verb. "Some people" is the receiver and "flying debris" is doer.

Computer Lesson

Today I learn vowels and consonants and design my igoogle homepage.



The "o" in "today" is short because the 2nd vowel is not a silent E.
The "o" in "vowels" is long because the 2nd vowel is a silent E.
The "o" and "a" in "homepage" is long because the 2nd and 4th vowel are silent E.

Grammar

This is a picture of a text that about reflexive pronouns. I went to Yahoo and searched for keywords, "reflexive pronouns". I looked though some of the result and I chose this one because it is better than others.

I think the most important word is defrost. By using contextual analysis, the key sentence is' bring to room temperature before soaking in the syrup'. By using morphemic analysis, the word can be define into two parts. They are 'de' and 'forest'. The 'de' is meaning down. The word 'frost' is meaning cool. By using phonemic analysis, i can think the word frozen. I choose this word because we can see this word a lot in the recipe, if we don't know what it means we will have a big problem.

Picky Eaters

I think I am a picky eater. I don't like eating most of vegetables specially eggplant. I think it is very mashed, moist and soft. I don't like this feeling. So I hate eating eggplant. I don't like to eat something that is insipid and rich too. I have many food that I hate to eat, so I think I am a picky eater.

The word "modern" is important to learn. I think "modern" means now and the new things. It is important to learn because if the technologies and architectures in a country is modern that means they are more fashionable, new and you may never seen before. And so the country is more worthy to visit.

The Tian Tan Big Buddha is a wonder in Hong Kong. It located on Lantau Island that near the Po Lin Monastery. It is the world's biggest outdoor Buddha. The construction costs of the giant Buddha were estimated to be up to $68 million. The Buddha is 34 meters high, weighs 250 tonnes. Visitors have to climb 268 steps in order to reach the Buddha. There is a huge carved bell that rings every 7 mins. You can feel the momentum of it and your feeling just like you are tiny as the sand when you stand in front of it. It is really magnificent.

My Hobby------Reading

I like reading so much because reading can increase my knowledge and stories are interesting. Every story has its own theme and let reader have different feeling about it. Like Harry Potter, the story makes me feel amazing and exciting. I like reading stories those are exciting or touching. The books about mathematics and nature are interesting also. Those books can tells me a lot of knowledge that I don’t know before. They are very useful. Reading books are good for us. So I like reading.
